Gameplay Experience
I played both the old and new demo versions of Beacon Pines and backed the game on Kickstarter almost immediately because it looked really promising.
Going into the full game, I expected to absolutely love it. Maybe my expectations were too high, but by the end I mostly kept playing just to see how the story finished. Thankfully, the game is pretty short at around 5 hours long. Pokémon Violet NSP Rom Update 4.0.0
One thing I expected was to use the charms much more often and have more control over the story. Instead, the game feels more like an interactive choose-your-own-adventure novel. There were several moments where I wanted to investigate clues or solve puzzles myself, but the game mainly tells you how the characters figure things out without giving the player much direct involvement.
In the end, it felt like another “choices matter” type of game where the choices do not really change things in a meaningful way.
